Our Fiddler's Rally will be held this coming Saturday 10th May compered by Frank Curran. Come and join us and hear the combined talents of The Border Strathspey & Reel Society and guest musicians drawn from the many Strathspey & Reel Societies and other sources from all over Scotland. We hope to have almost seventy musicians on stage in Dumfries High School on Saturday evening. Our main guest is Bruce Davies, a talented singer and guitarist and we extend a warm welcome to him on his first appearance with The Border Strathspey & Reel Society. Those of us who have heard him perform at other events have always come away feeling that his contribution to a concert has always been deserving of the applause he generates. Other guests are the aforementioned Frank Curran and also Louise Douglas, who is one of our own home grown talented players. We are are delighted that Robert Adam will join us again as our guest piper. We welcome the support of Dumfries and Galloway Council (Nithsdale Area Committee) in helping us in our endeavours to entertain the general public. Tickets for this event, priced at an affordable £7, are on sale at John Douglas' music shop in Dumfries, (we would like to thank him for providing this facility), and on the door on Saturday evening. After necessary expenses all proceeds will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
We are pleased to be invited for the 7th time to take part in the Border Gathering concert to be held in the Minerva Hall, Dumfries Academy on the 8th August.
